Stewardship Opportunities

As we expand the CGS ministry, we will be in need of adult assistants, as well as various housekeeping and maintenance tasks throughout the year. If you are interested in giving a weekly commitment of an hour from September through May, we would love your help in any of the following areas. VIRTUS training is required for all adults volunteering with children present.

Catechist Assistant: support the trained catechist during one or more school sessions. No experience necessary!  A small training session will be provided for all interested.

Materials Assistant: restock, inventory, help repair materials when needed Washing Linens: take home each Friday and return by Monday.

Simple Sewing: mending as needed and the sewing of additional small cloths as they are needed.

Communications: take photos and occasionally write small articles for social media, Vernacular, and the parish bulletin.

Woodworking: help with small woodworking projects as they come about.

Housekeeping: assist with cleaning bathrooms, floors, windows, etc.

Prayer team: pray for the children and the catechists as they seek to nurture their relationship with the Lord.

Catechist Assistant Training

August 6, 6:30-8:30 PM

August 8, 9:00-11:00 AM

"The catechist observes and studies the vital needs of the child and the manifestations of those vital needs according to the developmental stage of the child. The catechists live with the child a shared religious experience according to the teaching of the gospel: "Except you become like little children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God."

(Matthew 18:3). The catechist attends to the conditions which are necessary for this life to be experienced and to flourish." (Taken from the 32 Points of Reflection of CGS)
