The book of Tobias (also known as the Book of Tobit) tells of how Tobias would remove slain bodies from the street, carry them home until nightfall, then bury them in the dark of night despite criticism and threat of death because he "feared God more than man." (Tobit 2:3-9)
To give respect to fellow parishioners who have recently died by our attendance at prayer and funeral services. As a comfort to the sorrowing by our presence and prayers.
Attending rosaries and funerals of deceased parishioners. When a death occurs in our parish the information concerning the services is passed to the chairperson. A calling chain is used to notify each person of the dates, time and locations of the rosary and funeral. Members attend rosaries and funerals when they can.
